Big Z also tells him off at the end, telling him not everything is a promotion and to just plain shut up.

As Himself: Real life surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado appear as penguin versions of themselves.

Ascended Fanboy: Cody, who was a lifelong surfer and admirer of Big Z gets to compete in the memorial competition under the wing of the penguin himself.

It takes on an interesting style: despite being set in a world of anthropomorphic talking animals, the film parodies surfer documentaries, complete with handheld camera shots and interviews with the cast spliced in various places.
